550 kg poppy husk hidden beneath coal sacks seized, truck driver held

Hisar: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Hisar has seized 550.3 kg of poppy husk allegedly concealed beneath sacks of coal in a truck. The driver, Rohtash, a resident of Mehuwala village in Fatehabad district, has been arrested and the vehicle impounded. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the consignment allegedly originated from Rajasthan and was being transported into Haryana.A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act at Adampur police station. Acting on a tip-off, the team intercepted the truck near Moda Khera village while it was travelling from Rajasthan to Adampur. Officials found the vehicle loaded with coal sacks covered by a black tarpaulin.Upon searching, the team recovered 28 sacks containing the contraband concealed beneath coal sacks.MSID:: 131567582 413 |
