21-year-old woman assaulted, harassed after giving birth to daughter in MP's Chhatarpur

BHOPAL: A 21-year-old woman from Chhatarpur has approached police, claiming she was assaulted and harassed by her husband and in-laws after giving birth to a daughter three months ago.She approached the Superintendent of Police (SP) office and submitted a written complaint, alleging continuous physical and mental harassment at her matrimonial home in Urdmau village. According to the complaint, her husband and in-laws were unhappy over the birth of a girl child and allegedly assaulted and threatened her. She also claimed that during a recent altercation, her husband tried to harm the infant. Fearing for their safety, she left the house with the baby and sought police intervention.
