Hisar: Public anger in Hisar is intensifying over the alleged failure of the police to arrest the accused in the Sonia murder case even after 15 days of the incident.
On Friday, members of various trade, religious and social organisations staged a joint dharna outside Nagori Gate here and demanded immediate action against the perpetrators.
A large number of prominent citizens and representatives of different organisations participated in the protest and voiced resentment against the police administration. Protesters raised slogans and urged the authorities to ensure the swift arrest of the accused and deliver justice to the victim's family.
Addressing the gathering, Bajrang Garg, the state president of the Haryana Pradesh Vyapar Mandal, lamented the police negligence in the case. He said the delay triggered widespread anger among the public and raised serious concerns over the functioning of the police administration.

During the protest, representatives of several social, religious and business organisations expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and criticised the slow pace of the investigation.
The protesters demanded that the administration solve the case at the earliest and bring the culprit to justice.
Former mayor Gautam Sardana, Pawan Girdhar, Dr Ramesh Punia, Rajendra Chutani, Lal Bahadur Khowal, Hanuman Airan, Ashish Godara Kukki, Anu Sura and Satyapal Aggarwal, among others, participated in the demonstration.
