Dehradun: A speeding car hit
home guard Naveen Farasi on Rajpur Road early Friday, while two morning walkers—including Congress spokesperson Surendra Kumar—narrowly escaped.
Kumar said the incident occurred around 5:30 am when a Uttarakhand-registered car mounted the footpath, striking Farasi. The impact left him unconscious with serious injuries to his shoulder and back.
The driver, reportedly drunk and accompanied by a woman, tried to flee but was caught by Kumar and his companion. Police confirmed receiving Farasi’s complaint and said an FIR is being processed.
The incident comes a month after a retired Brigadier was killed by stray bullet fired by a speeding car borne accused indulged in a
road rage dispute with another car in Rajpur Road area. The deceased too was on a morning walk with his neighbours.
