Gurgaon: A taxi driver who was allegedly drunk rammed into multiple vehicles and injured five people in Sector 4 on Sunday evening.Police identified the accused as Raju (28), a resident of Laxman Vihar in Gurgaon. He was apprehended from the spot, and the taxi was seized.

The incident occurred around 7 pm when a white taxi entered the Sector 4 stretch at high speed and began hitting vehicles one after another. Eyewitnesses said, "The driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle." The car was coming so fast that people did not get time to move aside."The taxi first hit several two-wheelers before crashing into autorickshaws and cars ahead, leaving multiple vehicles damaged and debris scattered across the road. Witnesses said the driver appeared heavily intoxicated.Five passersby were injured in the incident, including a woman who sustained serious injuries, while others suffered minor wounds. Locals rushed to help the injured and shifted them to a nearby private hospital.Traffic movement was disrupted for some time before police reached the spot, cleared the damaged vehicles and restored normal flow.Police said a case has been registered at Sector 9A police station against the driver for reckless driving and endangering lives, and further investigation is underway.
