Education dept defers college admissions till further notice

GURGAON: The department of higher education had announced that the college admission portal would open for students from June 5. However, it circulated a notification on Friday that the process was being postponed till further orders.
The colleges were asked to start filling out their profiles between May 29 and June 31, after which the portal would have been opened from Monday.
An assistant professor from the government college in Sector 14 of Gurgaon told TOI, "Based on the earlier communications from the department, the fraternity is speculating that they might have to make some changes in the process to bring it in line with the new education policy."
TOI could not contact the officials for a statement.
