BSF detains 6 Bangladeshis at Ambassa Railway Station in Tripura's Dhalai district
Agartala: The BSF detained six Bangladeshi nationals, including a child, at Ambassa Railway Station in Dhalai district on Sunday, based on secret information.The detainees, all from Bangladesh’s Bagerhat district, claimed that they came to Ambassa intending to reach Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, in search of work.Police said during initial questioning, one detainee disclosed he had crossed into Tripura illegally a month ago. He said he had previously worked at a tea garden in Bangladesh, where he met a man who later introduced him to someone in Agartala. Following this contact, the group illegally entered India through Tripura, hoping to find work in Jalpaiguri. The detainees reportedly admitted to crossing the border with the help of an agent who charged a fee.They are being held at Ambassa Police Station and are likely to be produced in court on Monday, sources said. There has been no official statement from BSF authorities regarding the matter so far.
