Man dies while offering namaz at mosque in Assam’s Hojai district

Guwahati: A man suddenly collapsed and died while offering namaz at a mosque in Doboka under Assam’s Hojai district on Saturday.
The deceased, namely Aminul Islam, was living as a tenant at Chakatkara village under Rupahi Khatowal police station. A briefcase and Rs 3.39 lakh cash were recovered from his possession. Sources said locals immediately informed the police about the matter.Accordingly, personnel from Doboka police station rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. The identity of the man was ascertained after his body was taken to Nagaon civil hospital.
“On Saturday, the man came to the mosque to offer prayers. He asked the maulvi about the time of ‘adhan’ and also told him about his poor health,” a local said.
