Hyderabad: Since Wednesday afternoon, four people, including two students and an electrician, have died in separate road accidents in the city. The police have confirmed, however, that none of the accidents were related to drunk driving or the New Year celebrations.
In Kondapur, D Shankar, a 19-year-old Instamart worker from Sriram Nagar Colony, took his brother's bike to report for work at his office at around 10.30 pm. While travelling towards Kothaguda, in front of Palapitta Park, his bike fell onto the road. Gachibowli inspector K. Balaraju said: "We suspect that the footrest came into contact with the divider and he fell onto the road. He sustained a head injury. Alerted by locals, our team took him to Gandhi Hospital, where he died. As he was on his way to work, we do not suspect that he was drunk. Viscera samples were preserved for analysis."
