Heineken uncorkes first Asia-Pacific GCC in Hyd
Hyderabad: Dutch brewer Heineken BV officially inaugurated its first Asia-Pacific Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad's Financial District on Wednesday.Called Heineken Business Service India, the 76,000 sq ft facility is part of the company's Heineken Business Services (HBS) network and joins existing hubs in Kraków (Poland), Monterrey (Mexico) and São Paulo (Brazil). The centre, which began operations with over 300 professionals, is expected to expand to around 800 employees by the end of 2026 and surpass 1,800 by the end of 2027. Heineken chief financial officer Harold van den Broek told TOI that the organisation anticipates scaling the Hyderabad operations to between 3,000 and 4,000 employees by 2030.The facility will support Heineken's global operations, particularly across Asia-Pacific, as well as markets in Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Its services will include finance, procurement, supply chain, human resources, and enterprise-wide digital, data, and business process transformation.India, along with Singapore, will serve as pilot markets and early beneficiaries of the centre's operating model. The Hyderabad centre is expected to play a significant role in the planned expansion of HBS, Broek said.Inaugurating the facility, IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is being positioned as a global business services hub, with a focus on transforming GCCs into higher-value global capability centres focused on innovation and productivity. He stated that Heineken's investment reflects confidence in Hyderabad's infrastructure, policy environment and industrial ecosystem. "The addition of the Dutch brewer will strengthen Telangana's profile as a centre for global business solutions and innovation-led growth," he said.Heineken Business Services senior director Ákos Magyari said the new GCC strengthens the company's global capability network and deepens its presence in one of its key markets. "The new centre positions India as a critical hub within our global services ecosystem. India's scale, talent base and digital maturity will play a defining role in the company's long-term expansion," he said.Vineeth Suresh, director and India head of HBS, said the Hyderabad centre will combine global standards, local talent and a collaborative culture to deliver integrated services at scale. "As a regional hub supporting Asia-Pacific and beyond, it will play a key role in driving consistency, efficiency and innovation across markets," he added.
