HYDERABAD: With a defiant IPS officer refusing to take charge as Anantapur SP, the government on Sunday evening issued orders transferring the 2008-batch officer S Senthil Kumar, who was recently promoted and posted as DCP, Shamshabad, to Anantapur.
During the reshuffle of 44 IPS officers on October 26, the government had posted West Godavari SP M Ramesh as SP of Anantapur.
However, for reasons best known to him, Ramesh did not take charge. With issues related to law and order vis-à-vis bifurcation looming large over Anantapur district, DGP B Prasada Rao wrote a letter to the government on November 28, explaining the need to fill the SP post without delay.
Citing the letter, the government on Sunday issued the GO transferring S Senthil Kumar to Anantapur and cancelled the posting of M Ramesh.
Earlier, Kurnool SP K Raghurami Reddy, who was posted as DCP, South Zone, Hyderabad, had also refused to take charge and approached Central Administrative Tribunal
