Hyderabad: Director general of police (HOPF) CV Anand instructed all commissioners and superintendents of police to collect information about foreign nationals, especially Nepalis, working as domestic workers in the state.Expressing concern over the involvement of Nepali nationals in criminal activities, Anand said, “Instructions were given to officials to collect comprehensive data on domestic servants from Nepal and other countries across the state. Emphasis should be given to maintain a structured database containing details regarding their residence and employment,” DGP said.“To improve gender parity and working conditions for women police personnel, officials were advised on effective implementation of 33% reservation for women police personnel and directed officers to create greater opportunities for women officers in law and order duties and field-level policing responsibilities,” Anand said.Apart from maintaining a database of foreign domestic workers for better monitoring, issues related to CCTNS 2.0, adoption of AI, drones, and jurisdictional issues in four commissionerates were discussed.Similarly, while addressing SHOs, the DGP stressed the need for using technology to improve outcomes. He instructed them to update information on a real-time basis, better utilisation of digital forensics, and upload details of FIR, crime data, case diary and others using the existing systems.
