10% Covid samples tested in Indore collected during door-to-door survey

Samples collected through intensive house-to-house survey conducted for early identification of suspects of Covid-19 account for 10% of the total samples tested in Indore district. A total of 1,49,534 samples were tested till Thursday evening in the district. Of them, 16,342 samples were collected through identification of suspects during the survey.

INDORE: Samples collected through intensive house-to-house survey conducted for early identification of suspects of Covid-19 account for 10% of the total samples tested in Indore district. A total of 1,49,534 samples were tested till Thursday evening in the district. Of them, 16,342 samples were collected through identification of suspects during the survey.

Contact tracing team district in charge Dr Anil Dongre said, “Intense survey in Indore has helped in identification and isolation of suspects and also sampling of them helped us in many ways.”
The district has been carrying out maximum number of testing on any given day across state since the outbreak of pandemic, he claimed.
During the survey, health workers also found 46,214 people with one or more co-morbidities and around 12,000 with severe acute respiratory infections and influenza-like illness.
District administration has carried out three round of house-to-house survey, including Kill Corona campaign, for early identification, isolation and testing of suspects to control the spread of coronavirus. The survey had begun in early April and ended on July 15.
