Dispute over harvesting crop turns fatal, man kills younger brother in Barwani village

Barwani: A dispute over harvesting crop turned fatal in Rehgun village under Silawad police station in Barwani district, when a man killed his younger brother in a field on Saturday evening.According to police, Gendiya Dodwe was arrested for killing his younger brother, Phul Singh, and produced in court on Sunday, which remanded him to judicial custody.On Saturday, Phul Singh was heading towards his gram field while Gendiya was nearby harvesting wheat in his own field. An argument broke out between the two over harvesting of gram crop which escalated in no time. In a fit of rage, Gendiya allegedly attacked Phul Singh with an iron spade, striking him on head, right arm and neck. The injuries proved fatal, and he died on the spot.The matter was reported to police and, acting on a tip-off that the accused was still in the village and planning to flee, police quickly surrounded the location and arrested him. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, and the weapon used in the attack was recovered.
