INDORE: In a bid to contribute to the society, a group of housewives have come together to teach underprivileged children of a government school. They have been taking classes since last one year and now they have also been joined by some engineering students in imparting education to these kids and working on their skill set.
It all began when one Sadhna Singh, 43, began teaching at Nipania government school.

Gradually, she was joined by other housewives as well.
“Teaching kids was something which I had always loved. I got this opportunity when I once landed up at the government school and after meeting these girls, I decided to educate them. Indian kids have immense potential but unfortunately at times, they don’t get the opportunity to explore their talent,” said Sadhna Singh who is a homemaker.
After the school gets over, these housewives teach these kids for almost an hour at the school’s campus.
“Today, education and skill development are the most important verticals that the young generation needs to focus on. Well-to-do families of our society have got everything and they can afford whatever they want, but what about the kids and their families who cannot afford all this. It is our duty and responsibility to look after them,” she added.
The group of woman, which teaches kids of up to class 8th, include Nisha Bhardwaj, Sweta, Rakhi.

They have been joined by Prateek, Arjun , Durgesh and Deepak, all engineering students who approached Sadhna to teach students of higher classes.
“For students, who are studying above Class VIII, we have got some engineering students who come and teach them. Even on Saturday-Sunday, we teach kids who want to appear in competitive examinations,” said Nisha.
“Our focus is not just school syllabus, but it is also about all-round development of these students,” said an engineering student who has been teaching these kids.
