Indore: A 28-year-old man was hacked to death with a sharp-edged weapon in Dewas city’s Balgarh Square area in early hours of Tuesday.
The murder, allegedly triggered by an old rivalry, created panic in the locality. The accused in the crime was arrested within hours of the incident.
Industrial Area police station in-charge Shashikant Chourasia said that body of
Mukesh, who worked at a private company in the city, was found lying in a pool of blood behind a paan kiosk in Balgarh around 4.45am.
A team from Industrial Area police station rushed to the spot. A blood-stained weapon, believed to have been used in the attack, was recovered from the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed that Mukesh and the accused, identified as Bhavesh Choudhary, were neighbours and had a long-standing dispute. Police said that the two got into an argument around 4am, which quickly turned violent. In a fit of rage, Bhavesh allegedly attacked Mukesh repeatedly with the weapon, killing him on the spot.
Chourasia said that Bhavesh was detained shortly after the incident and was being questioned. The body has been sent for postmortem examination.
