Jhunjhunu: Sadulpur police Wednesday arrested a
Haryana resident for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery worth around Rs 50 lakh from two houses in Pahadsar village in Churu district on the night of June 3.
Station Officer Rajesh Kumar Sihag said thefts were reported from two separate houses in Pahadsar village, following which a case was registered and an investigation launched.
A special team was formed under the supervision of ASP Richhpal Singh Charan and IPS officer Abhijeet Patil, with Sihag leading the operation. Using technical evidence, CCTV footage and information from informers, the police traced and arrested
Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Haryana.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to committing the thefts in Pahadsar village.
Police said Neeraj is a habitual offender and several cases of theft and property-related crimes are registered against him in Haryana. Based on his disclosure, police also recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth several lakhs of rupees.
Officials said further interrogation is underway to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
