Jaipur: Jaipur International Airport has rolled out an Airport Queue Management System (AQMS) to efficiently manage passenger traffic during peak travel hours at both terminals.
With this system, real-time insights regarding congestion in terminal buildings are relayed to the dedicated help desks, enabling timely assistance, such as setting up more chairs, deploying security staff, and managing passenger flow, among other services. Officials said that this system was helpful during the Indigo flight crisis in Dec last year when, due to multiple delays, passengers waiting at the airport exceeded capacity but were managed without much difficulty.

"This real-time responsiveness becomes most critical during peak travel hours when passenger traffic is high. AQMS enhances passenger convenience by enabling smoother passenger movement. It helps provide a comfortable travel experience to passengers, further enhancing the airport's operational efficiency," said an official spokesperson at Jaipur airport.
Officials said that this system uses artificial intelligence-based technology, which can also enumerate the average time taken for a passenger from security checks to reaching the boarding gates.
Officials added that this helps the various airport teams gauge any challenges encountered by passengers on a real-time basis.
"We are leveraging the amalgamation of artificial intelligence and human capability to help passengers in every possible way. We will continue to explore more frontiers where this win-win combination can drive greater convenience for our passengers to foster a smooth and comfortable travel experience," added the spokesperson.
For passenger convenience, last month Jaipur Airport announced the start of an AI-enabled automated lost and found service that recorded an 85% recovery rate. The service is part of efforts to improve efficiency, enhance transparency, and enable seamless travel experiences for passengers.
