KANPUR: Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University organised an orientation programme for the freshers, who have taken admission in the first year in different courses. The new students were told about the dos and dont's. Many students were accompanied by their parents. Vice-chancellor Ashok Kumar interacted with the parents. Around 200 parents had come to take part in the orientation programme. Kumar said that students should not bow down before the challenges that come in their way to achieve academic success.
Parents should take care of their wards not become careless, he added. They
should guide their children and maintain contacts with the faculty members. This was followed by introduction of the students with the head of various departments. Orientation programme co-ordinator Sudhanshu Rai said that hundreds of students took part in the programme. Heads of 15 departments and the administrative officials also took part in the event.
Shrishti Ramsaha, who was representing Mauritius University during the orientation programme, addressed the students and said that it was nice to participate in orientation programme. Such events are not held in Mauritius. She addressed the students in Hindi.
The event was followed by cultural programmes, where students gave scintillating performance. They sang and danced on theme related to Independence.
