KANPUR: A speeding ambulance carrying a dead body from Delhi to Jharkhand lost control and rammed into a moving truck from behind near Nanmai village on the Kanpur-Varanasi National Highway no 2 under the limits of Kokhraj police station of Kaushambi district on Saturday morning.The accident took place when the ambulance rammed into a moving truck from the back side, reportedly after the driver identified as Aakash (22) of Etawah lost control of the vehicle. Four individuals accompanying the deceased sustained serious injuries in the collision.Upon being alerted, senior police officials and locals rushed to the spot. They rescued the injured and sent them to a nearby hospital for treatment.Police said that family members were carrying the body of Ganesh Mandal (50) from New Delhi to Jharkhand and the driver lost control over the vehicle and left four persons including Akash (22), Lalita (38), Manjoo (32) and Harkoo injured.Police added that three of the occupants, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged from Manjhanpur district hospital after first aid, while seriously identified Maya was admitted at SRN hospital in Prayagraj for treatment.Two minor occupants of ambulance Janhavi and Anjali were unhurt in the road accident.
