Thrissur: Higher education minister R Bindu on Tuesday said govt wouldn't take any hasty decision on Sabarimala women's entry issue and would strive to formulate a mature view after holding consultations with various sections in society.
Replying to questions from the media, Bindu said she couldn't give a unilateral stance on the issue which would have far-reaching implications on the social fabric. "It has to be state cabinet's collective decision and I can't make an individual opinion. This is a very complex issue. We can take decisions on issues which can create social tension or precipitate a crisis only after considering all shades of views," she said.

Permission for women to enter Sabarimala was granted through Supreme Court's order, and there was no scope for any political party to air an opinion on that, said Bindu. It is important to identify who had approached Supreme Court, she said.
Congress is trying to exploit the women's entry and other issues related to Sabarimala for political gains, she alleged. Attempts are being made to isolate the Left under the pretext of the latest Supreme Court order, she said.
