KOLLAM: A warden and a cook of a private boarding school near Punalur were arrested on Saturday and booked for allegedly physically assaulting a 12-year-old student on suspicion of theft, police said.The cook allegedly suspected that the boy had stolen Rs 500 and is said to have hung him upside down a few days ago, while the warden is accused of helping in the act, a police officer at Punalur police station said.The two have been arrested and booked under various sections of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, police said.Officials added that the boy is not suffering from any health complications as a result of the assault and is currently fine.The case was registered after the boy informed his parents, following which his father lodged a complaint with the police.(With agency inputs)
