Woman robbed of gold at Kalamassery

Kochi: A woman walking alone after work in Kalamassery was allegedly attacked by an assailant who covered her head with a cloth and robbed her of a gold necklace and an earring on Sunday night. The victim, a 23-year-old Kannur native, was heading to her residence after finishing work at a shop near HMT Junction when the incident took place. She lost a gold necklace worth one-sovereign and an earring from one ear. The assailant allegedly slammed her head against a pillar several times and hit her with stones. The attack took place under HMT Junction railway overpass at 8.15 pm. Two men known to the woman, who arrived after the incident, shifted her to a private hospital in Kalamassery. Kalamassery police have launched a probe. TNN
