Kolhapur: The first phase of the national-level Census is starting in Kolhapur from Friday.
As part of the process, self-enumeration will be conducted in the first phase from May 1 to 15 and a mobile application has also been developed for this. From May 16 to June 15, the enumerators will go door-to-door to collect information from the citizens.
On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, the administration has planned to fill in the information of the ministers, MLAs and MPs of the district on the app. The Census will be held in two phases, the first phase this year and the second phase in 2027.

Gajanan Gurav, district Census officer and resident deputy collector, said, "In the first phase, self-enumeration will be conducted. In this, the citizens will have to complete the Census between May 1 and May 15. People need to fill their information on the website se.census.go.in or on the app. After filling the information, an SCID number will be generated. After that, the census personnel will go house to house to collect the information from May 16 to June 15."
No kind of payment needs to be made for this. "No one should be paid to fill in the information on the website.
There is no other mechanism to fill in the information. Citizens have to fill in the information themselves. Therefore, they should not fall prey to the fraud of any agent and pay any money for this," Gurav added.
