Prime minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha and West Bengal on Friday to review the impact of cyclone Yaas on the two coastal states. Cyclone Yaas pounded parts of India's eastern coast on Wednesday, killing at least four people and forcing more than 21 lakh people to be evacuated to safe shelters in West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. 'Yaas' impact: One dead, 6 injured in Bihar

Cyclone Yaas impacted several districts of Bihar on Friday as one person died and six were reportedly injured in Bihar's Begusarai district after an old house collapsed. The incident occurred at Nonpur village under Teghra police station. (IANS)

Cyclone Yaas impact: Don’t want to burden Centre amid pandemic, says Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the damage caused in the state by Cyclone Yaas here on Friday, Odisha did not ask for any immediate financial assistance to manage the situation. Instead, chief minister Naveen Patnaik said the state would manage the crisis on its own without burdening the Centre in view of the pandemic.
