After influencer’s suicide, friend dies by hanging in Kasaragod

Kozhikode: A male friend of social media influencer Reshma K, popularly known as Chinnu Papu and who died by suicide last week, was found hanging at his residence at Mannipadi in Kasaragod on Sunday.The deceased, identified as Sandesh, 30, was earlier summoned by police for questioning as part of the investigation into Reshma's death. After recording his statement, he was allowed to leave.In a suspected case of suicide, Sandesh was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room at 1am on Sunday. Though he was rushed to a hospital he was declared brought dead.According to his friends, Sandesh had been under severe mental distress following Reshma's suicide.Reshma, a young social media influencer with over 2 lakh followers, was found dead at her rented house at Choori on Feb 9. She was divorced from her husband barely one month ago and was living with her four-year-old son.Her family had alleged that the woman took the extreme step following a dispute with her male friend.
