Kozhikode: With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just six months away, Keralite expatriates in the United States and Canada, under the banner of Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC), are gearing up to welcome Malayali football fans travelling to watch the tournament.
KMCC (USA and Canada) office-bearers said that with matches spread across the United States, Canada and Mexico, the organization has set up a helpdesk to support fans arriving in these countries. The helpdesk was inaugurated by IUML state president Panakkad Sadikali Shihab Thangal, in the presence of party leaders P K Kunhalikutty, Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal and others.
KMCC is coordinating a wide range of services to address travel and accommodation challenges that spectators may face while moving between host cities.
According to KMCC representatives, the helpdesk will offer airport pick-up and drop facilities, guidance on local transport, assistance in arranging safe accommodation and travel plans, support in obtaining local SIM cards and currency exchange as well as information on match tickets and stadium routes. A 24-hour emergency support system will also be in place.
