Major fire at commercial building in Nadapuram

Kozhikode: A major fire broke out in a three-storey building which housed a electric scooter showroom, lighting trading company and a furniture showroom at Purameri near Nadapuram, Kozhikode, on Tuesday afternoon. Though the outlets were functioning when the mishap took place, no one was injured as the staff and customers managed to rush out of the building on noticing the fire. The blaze had caused a loss estimates to be around Rs 4 crore. As many as 18 scooters in the showroom were gutted in the fire. Fire tenders from Nadapuram and Vadakara rushed in to control the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings.
