LUCKNOW: The Bhartiya Kisan Union activists who were sitting on a dharna at Charbagh station called off their agitation on Tuesday.
About 1,000 BKU activists had sat on a dharna at the station after they were denied to board trains to Delhi without tickets. They had been shouting slogans against railways officials and the GRP.
"We asked them to purchase tickets but they refused," said station manager Amitabh Kumar.
The activists, many of whom had already boarded reserved coaches, had to be forcibly brought down. In
protest, they sat on a dharna demanding a case be registered against GRP and RPF inspectors. However, the agitation was called off when senior officers intervened.
