Lucknow: A modern parking facility will be developed near the Hussainabad Imambara complex to ease traffic congestion and improve visitor amenities in the heritage zone. The project will be executed jointly by the Hussainabad and Allied Trust and the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).
Under the arrangement, the LDA will construct the parking infrastructure, while the Trust will undertake its operation, maintenance and management. Officials said the facility is expected to streamline traffic movement around the Imambara precinct, which sees heavy footfall from tourists, pilgrims and local visitors throughout the year.
The Trust has also decided to introduce online ticket booking for major monuments under its management, including the Bara Imambara, Chhota Imambara, Picture Gallery, Tomb of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan and Satkhanda. The system is expected to reduce waiting time and improve convenience for visitors.
Officials said restoration work at Satkhanda has been completed and the monument reopened to the public after remaining closed for a prolonged period.
Other ongoing works include constructing a ghuslkhana near Hussainabad Jama Masjid and installing a borewell and submersible pump at Shahi Masjid.
The Trust added that half of the annual revenue generated from the Lazeez Gali food court will be shared with it and utilised for heritage conservation, beautification and public amenities in the area.
