Lucknow: Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday organised a cyclothon to encourage cycling and to reduce use of motorised vehicles for short-distance movement on the campus.
The rally began from the director’s office in the administrative block and passed through the old OPD, Gate No. 2, EMRTC, Advanced Diabetic Centre and PMSSY before returning to the starting point.
SGPGI director Prof R K Dhiman, chief medical superintendent Dr Devendra Gupta, dean Dr Shaleen Kumar and several senior faculty members, officers and technical staff participated in the event.
Institute officials said the initiative was aimed at promoting fuel conservation and encouraging environmentally sustainable practices amid growing global energy concerns linked to the current situation.
