Ludhiana: A man allegedly posing as a cop duped two fruit vendors of cash and a mobile phone in the Jamalpur. Police have registered a case against the accused, Gurjit Singh of Jhambewal village.The complainant, Sunil Yadav of Mundian Kalan, told cops that he and his cousin, Chand Kishore Yadav, were selling fruits on 33-Foot Road around 1.30pm on June 6 when a man arrived on a motorcycle and introduced himself as a police officer. He added that the accused took Rs 2,000 and a phone from him and Rs 6,000 from his cousin.The complainant said the accused asked them to sit on his bike, saying that they were being taken to the police station. However, he allegedly dropped them and rode away.Sources said that the victims later traced the identity of the suspect and informed the police.
