Drug OD deaths: 2 sent back to police custody

Mumbai: A magistrate court on Monday sent two accused in the suspected drug overdose deaths case from judicial custody back to police custody till May 8.Vanrai police had requested the custody of Ayush Sahitya and Vineet Gerelani to quiz them jointly with key accused Mahesh Khemlani, who was arrested on May 1. Police suspect Khemlani to be involved in providing drugs to Sahitya and Gerelani and are probing if there is any international link. They also want to investigate if more recovery can be made through information provided by Gerelani and Sahitya.Opposing police's request, Gerelani's lawyer, Arjun Jeswani, said he had already been questioned for eight days in police custody last month and had never made any international trip.
