Navi Mumbai: A 17-year-old girl from Kharghar who was allegedly abducted by a man after establishing love relationship and coercing her to elope has been rescued after six days and reunited with her family.
Ajay Kamble, senior inspector of Kharghar said, "The accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar Janzorad (29), who was apprehended from his residence in Owe Peth village in Kharghar node. As the rescued minor girl's medical test at Panvel sub-district hospital confirmed her sexual relationship, we have have invoked relevant sections of Posco Act against the accused Janzorad.

The police informed that a few months ago, the girl left home by telling her younger sister that she was going to the woman's house where her mother worked as a maid. As she did not return home till late evening and had not even gone to the woman's house, her family searched for her till past midnight and when she was not found, her father, a labourer, lodged a complaint. Police scanned CCTV footages, when the victim girl was spotted riding pillion on a bike with a man. From the bike's registration number, the owner's name and address was obtained and the accused was detained from his residence. He led the cops to the labour camp in Kalamboli where he had accomodated the minor girl, who was rescued and her custody was handed over to her parents.
