Newly wed couple killed in Amravati accident

Amravati: Barely three months after their wedding, a young couple's journey met a tragic end on a national highway. Puran Kaushal Kothar, 28, and his wife Vaishnavi, 21, died on the spot in an accident near the Varuda turn under Badnera Police Station limits on Thursday night.According to police, Puran was riding a two-wheeler along with Vaishnavi from Pawan Nagar in Badnera to their native village, Pala Dabha. While crossing the highway at the Varuda turn, a speeding bus rammed into their two-wheeler. The impact was so severe that both were flung several meters onto the road. Residents immediately called an ambulance and rushed the couple to the District General Hospital. Puran succumbed to his injuries late at night during treatment, and Sharda died moments later. Badnera Police have impounded the bus and taken the driver into custody.
