Chandrapur: A team of local crime branch raided a hotel in Wadgaon locality of Chandrapur city and rescued two women allegedly forced into prostitution, while arresting one accused and launching a search for another suspect.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team conducted the operation through a decoy customer under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. The operation was led by PI Amol Kachore and assisted by social workers, female witnesses and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit. The team uncovered an organised sex trade allegedly operated by Saoji Pandurang Hastak (74), and his son Pradeep Hastak (30).
Police seized cash, mobile phones, registers, and QR payment records from the premises. A case has been registered at Ramnagar police station under relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic Act.
