NASHIK: An accused in the Nashik TCS workplace harassment case has alleged that he was assaulted while in police custody.
During a hearing on Thursday, the accused told the court that he was beaten while lodged at Nashik Road Central Jail. No formal complaint has been filed with the police regarding the alleged assault.
He, along with a co-accused, was produced before the court under heavy security and remanded to police custody till April 18 to facilitate further investigation in multiple cases linked to alleged harassment and coercion at a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) facility in Nashik.

The case has widened significantly, with nine FIRs registered so far—one at Deolali Camp police station and eight at Mumbai Naka police station. The investigation began with a complaint by a woman employee who alleged she was lured into a relationship on the promise of marriage.
As the probe progressed, several other women came forward with similar allegations.
A total of six accused have been arrested so far while unit's operations manager has been sent to 14-day judicial custody.
Police said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has examined over 40 CCTV footage clips and is recording statements of victims and accused.
Investigators told the court that custodial interrogation is necessary at this stage, citing the possibility of more victims coming forward and the need to recover crucial electronic evidence.
Officials also clarified that the TCS unit in Nashik has not been shut down, with employees currently working from home due to the ongoing probe.
