Noida: A dispute over ice in a glass of sugarcane juice turned violent in Noida on Tuesday. Two men have been arrested on charges of assault.The incident took place in Sector 76 around 9 pm. A senior officer at Sector 113 police station said that they were informed that some men were beating each other with sugarcane stalks on the road near a high-rise society. A team went to the spot to restore order.The dispute started at a sugarcane juice stall, where some men allegedly ordered juice without ice. When the shopkeeper gave them a glass with ice in it, they refused to accept it. They demanded their order be cancelled. This triggered an argument between the customers and the shopkeeper that soon escalated, said the officer.A video of the incident accessed by TOI shows about a dozen men beating two or three others with stalks in the middle of the road as cars and bikes ply by. Two men managed to escape the crowd and ran down the road, as the others threw things at them. The attackers then chased them with the stalks still in their hands.After taking note of the incident, a case of assault was registered at Sector 113 police station, and two men were arrested. Efforts are underway to find others involved and take further action, said the officers.
