The victims have been identified as Ram Babu Mishra, Lalu Mishra (both from Madhubani), Mohammad Karim, Mohammad Hasim, Mohammad Salim (all from Saharsa), Gurjeet Sharma and Ram Snehi.
According to Danapur GRP, the drugged passengers are out of danger. However, Gurjeet and Ram Snehi are yet to regain their senses, police said adding the drugged passengers were robbed of their valuables by the cheats on the running trains.
Superintendent of railway police (SRP) said that more efforts should be made to create awareness about the drug menace among passengers of running trains. Unfortunately, this division merely receives such passengers from other places, he said and added that these cheats were now targeting even AC passengers.
Incidentally, the division has so far registered arrival of about 260 drugged passengers this year alone. However, its number has gone up to over a thousand during the past two years of which half-a-dozen died due to over dose, sources said.
