A varsity that is on paper

CHAPRA: Maulana Mazhar-ul Haque Arbi Farsi university, Patna is a unique one in the country as even after the 12 years of its existence, it is without officers, teachers, students and employees.
Giving this information, president of University Action Committee Abdul Qayum Ansari said that this university was established in 1992 under the Bihar State University Provision, 1976 and gazette notification was done in 1998.
The then governor had appointed Mokhtaruddin of Aligarh University as vice-chancellor and Afaq Fazi as special officer. But due to the apathetic attitude of the state government, nothing fruitful could be done and the tenure of three years of the VC and others ended after which no appointments were made.
The action committee plans to go to court for redressal of the grievances in this regard, he added.
