<div class="section1"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">SIWAN: Gopalganj DM Heera Lal informed the mediapersons, here, on Thursday that all the preventive measures to combat flood have been taken in the district and Rs 74.35 lakhs have been made available by the state government for the flood prevention and relief works.
Besides, Rs 17.50 lakhs have been made available for the repair of embankments and bandhs.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">He further said that the six blocks of the district that are prone to floods will be provided with hand pumps and adequate number of boats. He said that preparations for medical relief have also been made for which instructions have been given to the concerned officials. He also warned that stringent actions would be taken against erring officials and employees.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">Meanwhile, inhabitants of the Diara area along the Gandak river are panicky as the threat of flood looms large and they are not satisfied with the preparations made by the administration. Some of them are also leaving for safer places while others keep praying to the Gods to safeguard them from the fury of flood.</span></div> </div>
