Patna: Dinara MLA Alok Kumar Singh was on Sunday reappointed as Bihar state president of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) by the party’s national president, Upendra Kushwaha, during a state-level convention at Ravindra Bhawan in Patna.Kushwaha also appointed Prashant Kumar Pankaj and Subhash Chandravanshi as state working presidents, while Himanshu Patel was named state principal general secretary.Earlier, the party held its state convention and election programme for the post of state president in the presence of functionaries from across Bihar. During the nomination process, Alok Kumar Singh and Prashant Kumar Pankaj emerged as valid candidates.“During the period of withdrawal of candidature, both the candidates unanimously authorised the party’s national president Kushwaha for the selection of the state president,” RLM spokesperson Nitin Bharti said in a statement.“After being authorised by both the candidates, Kushwaha declared Singh as the party’s state president, keeping in mind the unity of the organisation, the sentiments of the workers, and the interest of the party,” Bharti said.The announcement was made at the conclusion of the convention, with party leaders expressing confidence that the new team would strengthen the organisation ahead of upcoming political challenges in the state.
