Congress expels three leaders for six years
Patna: The state Congress disciplinary committee, headed by Kapil Deo Yadav, on Wednesday terminated the primary membership of three party functionaries and expelled them from the organisation for six years over alleged anti-party activities and unbecoming conduct.Those expelled include Onkar Shakti and Chandan Singh from Gaya, along with former National Students’ Union of India state chief Rashid Fakhri from Madhubani.According to party sources, the disciplinary action was taken after complaints regarding indiscipline and activities considered detrimental to the party’s interests.Copies of the expulsion letters have been sent to AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, Bihar incharge Krishna Allavaru and state Congress president Rajesh Ram.Fakhri, in particular, has been accused of orchestrating protests and serious misconduct by his supporters against former Congress legislature party leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan during a party meeting held at the Madhubani office on Jan 6 this year.He has also been charged with instigating the lodging of FIRs against party leaders and functionaries, which the disciplinary committee viewed as an act of indiscipline and anti-party behaviour.
