MUZAFFARPUR: In a bizarre development, about one-and-a-half dozen residents of the Premnagar village under the Motipur block of the district have taken ill after consuming some expired medicines. One of the victims, Pappu, is suffering from high fever as small-pox like marks have erupted on his body.
According to sources, a daylong free health check-up camp was organised on March 16 under the scheme of "Swasthya Yowan Mela" for the check-up of sexually-transmitted diseases.
About 150 local residents, including women, visited the health camp where they were examined and given medicines free of cost.
Sources alleged that the medicines distributed among the people had expired in the month of February itself. After consuming the medicines, the people developed vomiting tendency, they added.
