PATNA: Human chain formations and deliberations marked the International
Human Rights Day celebration held across various education institutions and organizations on Wednesday.
Political science students of Patna Women’s College formed a human chain at the college gate on Wednesday morning and raised slogans like ‘Women are a part in building of the nation’, ‘Hate the crime, not the criminals’ etc.
College principal Sr M Jessie motivated the girls to defend human rights while political science department head Shefali Roy highlighted the various aspects of human rights.
With chants of ‘Maanav adhikaron ka samman karo’ and ‘Sari duniya hai ek parivaar, sab ko mile maanav adhikar’ and ‘Mighty or weak, big or small, human rights for all’, students of St Xavier’s College, Digha, also formed a human chain on the Digha-Ashiana road on Wednesday. Students holding placards with catchy slogans brought to the fore important aspects of people’s rights at the road show. Some of the students who actively participated in the event were Ujjwal Mehta, Hitain, Abhilash Choubey, Rupali, Ashutosh, Abhishek, Madhuri and Rajeev.
Students of A N College participated in a seminar organized on the college campus on Wednesday and were told that inclusive development of the society can happen only if everyone’s human rights is protected. College principal in charge Lalan Singh said service to humanity is the actual human rights.
BHRC chairman Justice (retired) Bilal Nazi said the violation of human rights was a serious offence and every person needed to do his/her bit to prevent it. He was addressing the students of College of Commerce on Wednesday. College principal Baban Singh also threw light on the importance of human rights.
Members of Jankalyan Parishad staged a march and Sir Ganesh Dutt Vichar Manch organized a seminar to mark the occasion on Wednesday.
