Patna: The Patna high court has expressed displeasure over the “slow pace” of action against illegal encroachments, slaughterhouses and huts allegedly sheltering drug peddlers near the Bihar Judicial Academy at Gaighat.
A division bench of justices Rajiv Ranjan Prasad and Mohit Kumar Shah, hearing a PIL filed by the judicial academy, directed the district administration to remove all illegal structures and slaughterhouses in the area by June 6.
The court also recorded an undertaking from the district magistrate of Patna to seal illegal slaughterhouses within 24 hours in the vicinity of the academy.
