Shivani vows to prioritise education, health in Lalganj
Patna: Jailed strongman Munna Shukla’s daughter, Shivani Shukla, who is contesting the assembly election from Lalganj seat, has pledged to focus on improving education, health and infrastructure if elected.“The issues that I am taking to the public are education, health, infrastructure — primarily the drainage system — and then employment,” said Shivani, who is contesting on an RJD ticket, while speaking to the reporters on Saturday.Shivani is contesting from a constituency long associated with her family. Her father represented Lalganj three times, while her mother, Annu Shukla, served once. Outlining her vision for the constituency, she said her goal is to ensure quality education and job security for young people. “The youth must have degrees that lead to meaningful employment and job security,” she said, adding that her efforts would ensure all students reach school safely and that every youth receives an education. However, Shivani expressed shock over her father being shifted from Beur jail to Bhagalpur central jail by the govt authorities ahead of the elections. “Everyone knows I love my father. He is my weak point, but one must also know that none can control the woman if she gets angry,” she added.Munna Shukla is serving life imprisonment in the Brijbihari Prasad murder case.
