Criminal opens fire in Dighi

Pune: Heated arguments between two criminals on the police records turned violent in Dighi on Wednesday evening when one of them fired a round from a country-made firearm. "No one sustained injuries in the firing incident. We have launched a search against the duo," assistant commissioner of police (MIDC Bhosari division Division) Sudhakar Yadav of the Pimpri Chinchwad police told TOI.Yadav said that the complainant, Karan Rathod, and the accused are the criminals on the police records. Both of them were released from jail a few months ago. "On Wednesday around 6pm, they were in Dighi and chatting. Their casual talks turned into heated arguments. The accused took out a firearm and fired a round," Yadav said. The officer said that no one sustained injuries in the firing. The accused fled from the spot after the incident. "We have fanned teams to trace him. We will soon arrest him," the officer said.
