Raipur: A law and order situation arose in a village in Chhattisgarh's Kawardha district after villagers from Lohardih allegedly took four people hostage and set their house on fire on Sunday. Later, one body was reportedly found in the house, while three others were rescued. The police claimed to have detained 80 individuals.
The situation escalated when villagers discovered the body of Kachru Sahu hanging from a tree, leading to suspicion falling on Raghunath Sahu.
Holding Raghunath Sahu responsible for Kachru's death, the villagers attempted to burn his family alive by setting their house on fire, resulting in the death of a 55-year-old man.But the police have yet to identify the deceased. The villagers also made an unsuccessful attempt to take the police force, including the Superintendent of Police (SP), hostage. More than 400 police personnel were deployed in the village, with the SP, Additional SP, and other officials present. So far, around 80 villagers involved in the incident have been detained. According to the police, the situation in the village is now under control.
