Gumla DC Visits Remote PVTG Villages, Promises Road, Aadhaar, and Mushroom Farming Training

Gumla: DC Prerna Dixit visited remote Karamdon-Asurtoli village in Dumri block of the district on Wednesday as a part of the district administration’s ongoing Project Dwaar initiative.Residents of the village, who hail from particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTG) Asur and Korwa, claimed it was the first time that a DC paid them a visit to take stock of their living conditions and inspect the implementation of social welfare schemes of the govt.The villagers put forth before the DC their long-standing demand for a 3 km-long pucca road for improved connectivity.Dixit asked the engineers accompanying her to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for building a small bridge on the existing road. Officials were asked to set up a camp to issue Aadhaar cards and birth and death certificates.The farmers will also be trained to take up mushroom farming, which in turn will boost their household earnings.
